With its ‘Drive all day, party all night’ ethos, what better place for the Modball Europe Rally 2014 to end its pan-European run than Ibiza? Modball is one of the biggest international road rally events, now in its eighth year, it promises to bring a real treat for motoring and partying enthusiasts to Ibiza.
Modball was created in 2007 by Joseph Bourgerie, a young entrepreneur from the UK, with a well suited business background that covers events, music and television production. He started the Modball rally as he had swapped the internet domain name for his Playstation 2 with a work colleague. Now the Modball is represented globally holding road rally events in Australia, America and Europe.
Modball attracts a wide variety of competitors from all over the world ranging from Actors, Musicians and Models to professional racing drivers. Its well known for its glamorous party’s that have previously included included Will.I.Am Djing in Vegas and paint parties in Luxembourg. Described by Lucy Pinder as ‘The best 7 days of my life’, we are sure 2014 Modball will be no exception.
This year Modball starts in London on the 20th June at Pall Mall’s Waterloo Place, going through Paris, Lyon, Barcelona, Valencia, Denia and finally finishing in Ibiza on the 26th June. A route many of us may be familiar with. Along the way special events are planned, one being a lap of the Ricardo Tormo race track in Valencia on the 24th June and also public displays of the competitor cars, no doubt they will find time for a little bit of partying along the way. The final finishing party is scheduled to take place at The Ocean Beach Club in San Antonio.
The organisers have been recently working hard meeting with local representatives from the Islands Authorities to plan the necessary road closures and logistics for when the race comes to Ibiza. We are reliably informed all has been happily agreed and arranged with the Chief of Police to ensure public safety.
Car enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that so far entrants includes a Morgan 3 Wheeler, a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Hennessey Venom GT, to name just a few of the exotic cars that will be coming to Ibiza. It is sure to be one of the seasons not to be missed events.
