A young man of 34 years and American nationality has died at around Midday today, after falling from a height of more than 25 metres in the Sa Pedrera de Cala d’Hort area.
According to the 112 report, the man was climbing in the Sant Josep area more commonly known as Atlantis with his partner when the accident occurred.
An off-duty nurse attended the young man after the fall occurred.
When the Guardia Civil arrived at the scene they requested helicopter assistance to rescue the man, along with the 061 medical team, Local Police and the specialised Vertical Rescue Group (GRV) team of firemen.
Helicopter assistance was then cancelled and the emergency services will remove the body by land.
The young man’s family are receiving psychological care.
