San Antonio Football Stadium, Saturday 21st September, Kick Off 7pm.

Stars from screen and sport meet to fight it out for the second Jet2 vs Mambo charity football tournament.

The event in 2018 was a great success, leading the diario to describe the venue as ‘the stadium of dreams’. The night was great fun for all the family plus over 6,000€ was raised for charity.

Action from 2018

Entry is a 5€ donation for adults, children go free, and in 2019 all funds raised will go to the APNEEF charity for disabled people here in Ibiza – a brilliant cause.

Plus your 5€ donation entrance ticket doubles up as a raffle ticket, with a whole host of great prizes on offer including a trip to Ibiza courtesy of Jet2, flights, headphones, gift vouchers to many local restaurants, health treatments, massages and much more.

The stars all make time to meet the fans after the game for selfies and autographs, and the winners will claim their crown.

From the world of football we expect to see Paco Sanz, Miguel Sánchez Benítez, Iván Campo, Vicente Engonga, Finidi George, Xavi Prieto, Gabriel Amato, Dennis Irwin and Adrián Colunga.

Jet2 will be bringing their soap star squad which last year had us chatting with such household figures as ‘Kirky’ and ‘Tyrone’ from Corrie, and we predict that Hollyoaks stars Anthony Quinlan and Ashley Taylor Dawson will be in hot demand.

Mambo took the title as champions in 2018, will the Jet2 all-stars get their revenge this year?

Please help to spread the word and get as many people along as possible to support this great family event.

The San Antonio Stadium is immediately adjacent to the bus station, very close to the Egg Roundabout.

Jet2

For Jet2, Manchester United and Ireland defender Denis Irwin has the interesting challenge of leading out a pan-channel-soap team. Corrie and Hollyoaks are out in force with an odd Eastender giving some Southern representation.

Irwin will be applying all the skills and experience of a career in which he won 19 major trophies, and had Alex Ferguson describe him as ‘pound for pound the best signing I ever made’.

Denis Irwin of Manchester United gives the Jet2 squad a pretty good pedigree by any standards. From TV we may well expect to see Andy Whyment, Coronation Street’s ‘Kirky’ along with Dean Fagan who plays ‘Luke Britton’, Alan Halsall, who plays ‘Tyrone Dobbs’ and Sam Aston, known by millions thrice weekly as ‘Chesney Brown’.

Among the Hollyoaks half dozen there is Anthony Quinlan who plays ‘Gilly’ in Hollyoaks and also ‘Pete Barton’ in Emmerdale. Plus Ashley Taylor Dawson, who is ‘Darren Osborne’ in Hollyoaks and also a 2013 ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ contestant.

Mambo

On paper at least, the opposing team Mambo look a daunting prospect for Irwin’s 11. No surprise to find a player from Mambo boss Javier’s beloved Blancos in the line up, with European Champion’s League winning Iván Campo. British fans may best remember Campo for his 40 yard wonder goal for Bolton v Spurs on the opening game of the season 2006.

Campo is one of two Ipswich Town players in the Mambo team. He is joined by Finidi George who made a name for himself with Ajax, another Champion’s league winner, and Nigeria. George also played for Real Betis and Mallorca in Spain.
