The indefinite strike of Ibiza airport security staff planned to start Friday 20th July, has been called off following an 11th hour agreement with employers.
The strike was announced last Friday 13th when talks with the security staff concession holding company Trablisa broke down.
The cancellation of the strike action came with less than a day to go, following an emergency meeting between the staff union and Trablisa.
In that meeting Trablisa conceded the employee demands that they would respect the terms and conditions of the previous concession holder.
Miguel Pardo, General Secretary of the Federation of Construction and Services Union, CCOO, of the Balearic Islands, said that the agreement is a victory for the workers. Pardo also thanked Isabel Castro, General Director of Labour of the Balearic Government, for their part in reaching the mediated agreement and thus resolving the conflict.
