Union representatives of staff working for the Spanish Airport authority AENA, have confirmed 25 days of industrial action over the coming months.

AENA operate 46 airports in Spain, including Ibiza, which has already experienced industrial action by outsourced cleaning and security staff this earlier this year.

The days of strike will affect all Spanish airports, and will be on a 24 hour basis – if you want to check how your own flights could be affected we have no information available as to whether it will be midnight to midnight, or link in with shift patterns.

AENA have again reported record numbers of passengers in Ibiza this summer, and nationally made €1,164 million profit in 2016.

Staff have been threatening industrial action over pay since the spring. Their ultimatum of receiving an acceptable offer by mid August has not been achieved, prompting their confirmation of strike days.

September: 15, 17, 22, 24, 29
October;      1, 6, 11, 15, 27, 30, 31
