- A student armed with a crossbow killed one teacher and injured another at a Barcelona high school on Monday morning.
- Three students were also reportedly injured with a knife.
The El Pais newspaper reported that Catalan police are keeping the suspect in custody while paramedics assist the injured and the police take statements from fellow students at Joan Fuster High School, located in the neighborhood of La Sagrera.
Some pupils explained that the attacker – who has been alternately described as being either 13 or 14 – arrived late and shot straight at the teacher as he was walking into class, around 9.20am. The educator was wounded.
The suspect then turned to the teacher’s daughter, who is also a student at the school, and stabbed her in the leg with a knife.
Alarmed at the screams, a substitute teacher who taught social sciences walked in and was fatally shot in the chest.
