Police are hunting a Hell’s Angel who escaped their grasp during a drug trafficking operation today.

Armed Guardia Civil officers carried out a raid on premises in the Montecristo industrial estate.

Acting on a tip off of suspected drug trafficking, the operation resulted in one arrest and the seizure of ‘an important quantity’ of drugs in what they described as a ‘laboratory of Marijuana’.

A second man was arrested in Cala Vadella as part of the same operation.

The montecristo raid was at a storage facility where several high specification cars and boats were found. It was stated that the unit had drawn attention due to be unusually quiet during daytime hours.

Police were in concealed positions however when the suspect said to be a member of the Hell’s Angels approached the property on his motorbike, he spotted the Guardia and rode off at high speed, ignoring the officer’s attempts to stop him, despite their brandishing their weapons.

The guardia say they know the man’s identification and are confident of apprehending him later today.

The operation was directed by the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard of Ibiza, agents of the Usecic (Citizen Security Unit) and a UCO detachment from Mallorca.
